Parrots - birds that were probably imported from India. The ancient Romans bred and trained them to shout glory to the emperor. This pattern, which, like many other motifs, is depicted in a circle, is characteristic of the Byzantine period. Fabrics of this type were created in the 13th century, most often in Italy.
