| POMEGRANATE AND CARNATION - Replica of a semi-silk fabric from the 16th-17th century. Patterned based on an analysis of a preserved chasuble from Kratochvíle Castle. The fabric in this original color was patterned under the supervision of the National Museum of Natural History of České Budějovice for use on a Renaissance bed at Vimperk Castle. The original fabric was woven in Italy around 1600 as a double fabric using natural silk in combination with cotton and linen. The pattern is created by alternating pomegranate and carnation motifs. | ||||||||||
