This fabric draws from patterns typical of the second half of the 14th century – a time of High Gothic and cultural flourishing during the reign of the Luxembourg emperor. The motif of stylized parrots is set against an ornamental background with golden botanical elements, evoking the exotic and precious textiles imported from the Orient, which once adorned the garments of monarchs and nobles.
