The pattern is inspired by the historical textile “Fabric with Octopuses and Dragon Fish” from the monograph Textiles from Archaeological Research at Prague Castle (Academia, Institute of Archaeology of the Czech Academy of Sciences, Prague, 2023). According to the scholarly interpretation, the original is a Northern Chinese silk textile dating from the second half of the 13th to the 14th century. It reached the Czech lands through long-distance trade along the Silk Road. The design reflects the rich ornamentation of medieval Chinese textiles and showcases the exceptional craftsmanship of historical silk weaving.
