The tradition of textiles in the Rýmařov region has its roots in the distant past. The emergence of this industry was made possible by local flax, which was grown in abundance in this region. Linen products achieved great consumption due to their durability and also because they were cheap. The townspeople used flax mainly in the clothing industry and agriculture due to its durability and price. Flax was traditionally prepared and spun by villagers.
In 1990, as a result of political changes in our country, a major reorganization began at the operations and in 1993, the national enterprise Hedva was renamed Hedva, a. s. Moravská Třebová.
In 2014, the independent company HEDVA ČESKÝ BROKÁT, s.r.o. was established by splitting off the 06 Rýmařov plant from Hedva Moravská Třebová.
